ABOUT ME

Before I knew what I wanted to do with my life, I knew I found a weird peace in high-pressure situations, those typically involving a microphone in my hand. I did my school musicals, talent shows, and anything else I could to get that opportunity, that rush you only get from live entertainment. I coupled this passion with my love for sports to build the career I have so far. It wasn’t until my freshman year at FSU that I realized this is the industry I wanted to be in. Since then, it has been all I think about, the single thing that drives me every day. Through my various roles and positions across a handful of media outlets, I have seen the connection between sports and society. The various experiences I’ve had have shaped me into a well-rounded young professional with ambitious goals and dreams. Every person in power that I have met has taken a chance on me, and every time, I have proved them right, exceeding all expectations. Trust is the highest form of respect, and I hope that one day, athletes will trust me to tell their stories.

Every day I strive to be the best person I can be, both professionally and mentally. I am a huge advocate for body positivity in female reporters in the entertainment industry. I was deeply insecure about my body and took up weight lifting. It has become my favorite hobby and has shown me just how powerful our bodies can be, as well as how important it is to love and nourish them. I hope one day that female reporters are judged more on the information they share rather than the body that their intelligence is displayed on.

I am also an advocate for wearing glasses on camera. I have worn glasses since I was 18 months old and hope that more people embrace them and become comfortable with wearing them on camera. My glasses are a huge part of my life and hope to inspire others to wear them loud and proud.

In 2021, my family started housing an exchange student from Africa named Marouf. Marouf came to the United States with dreams of playing college and professional basketball. Through this experience, I have realized just how many talented and inspiring individuals there are all around the world that need one person to say yes to their dreams. My family has worked very hard to get Marouf to play collegiate basketball, and we cannot wait to see where this journey takes him. I would love to be involved in any global programs and have a passion for finding and telling those stories.
